Welcome to Tifton!

Tifton has a very long and important role in the history of Georgia.  It is the home of several major educational institutions, a regional medical center, and serves as a center of commerce for the region.  Both the City of Tifton and Tift County are experiencing growth in both population and commerce as individuals and companies realize the great quality of life that exists in our community.

TITLE VI & ADA Compliance

The City of Tifton, Georgia hereby gives public notice that it is the policy of the City of Tifton to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statues and regulations in all programs and activities.  It is out policy that no person in the shall on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any of our programs or activities.

Any person who believes they have been subjected to unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has the right to file a formal complaint.  The complaint must be filed in writing or in person with City of Tifton, City Manager’s Office, within one hundred-eighty (180) days from: the date of the alleged discriminatory act or upon notice of the discriminatory act.  Title VI Discrimination Complaint Forms may be obtained from the City Manager’s Office or by going to the City’s website, , highlighting Administration in the top header of the page, then clicking City Manager, or by calling (229) 391-3937.
