Mission Statement
The Main Street Program focuses on revitalization
of the downtown area by restructuring our economy in
order to restore, rehabilitate and use our historic resources. Special
Events such as holiday parades, festivals, and exhibits
improve community attitudes and promote downtown as a
friendly place to return. Business Development
encourages revitalization through reinvestment and participation
in the process of community redevelopment.

To develop Downtown Tifton into a regional destination
point. Downtown Tifton should be so compellingly
unique that people will go out of their way and pass by
other towns just to visit Historic Downtown Tifton.

Tifton – Tift County Main Street
is designated as a Certified Main Street Community that
assists in development and revitalization of its downtown
area. The program was established in 1985 with a
found, promotion, economic restructuring, and design of
a downtown commercial district.
Downtown area has experienced tremendous
growth and re-development. Downtown Tifton features unique
architecture from the past and a commitment of preservation
for the future.
