Frequently Asked Questions

How can I add an additional computer to my Internet service?"
1. There are three options in establishing a network which is always required for multiple computers to
share the same Internet connection.

2. Buy the equipment and install it yourself. Then learn how to maintain the network and correct
problems as they occur. If you have Internet connection problems, CityNet Technical Support Staff
can not provide support for your network without a costly service call.

3. Hire an outside contractor to install and maintain your network. The cost of this method is out of the
price range for most home users and many small businesses. Expensive service calls every time you
have a network problem can quickly turn into a major annual expense. If a problem comes up with
your Internet connection, is it due to CityNet service or your network? A process of elimination
begins to determine your problem. CityNet can not provide free service calls to determine your
problem.

4. Subscribe to CityNet HomeNet or BusinessNet Connect. Our expert technicians, who install your
network, provide technical support for your Internet AND network problems. You deal with one
organization, and there is never a question of whose responsibility it is to fix the problem.

"What happens if I move or wish to discontinue service?"
1. If your move is within our service area, unplug the cable modem and network device and take them
with you. After setting up everything at your new location, call us if anything is not working properly.

2. If you move outside our service area or wish to discontinue either networking services or Internet
service, return all equipment along with the power cords and cables to the CityNet building at 114
Kent Road. Your service and charges for service will be discontinued on the day all equipment and
cords/cables are returned.

"Is there a charge to replace equipment that stops working?"
1. Monthly service charges covers replacement and installation of defective equipment at no charge.
The only exception to this 100% guarantee is when there is obvious subscriber damage or electrical
surges to unprotected equipment.
