Tifton, Georgia COVID-19 Updates

The City of Tifton is committed to the health and protection of our employees and citizens. Due to recent COVID-19 precautions, access to City Hall is limited, however we are staffed and here to serve your needs during this time.

If you need immediate assistance, please ring the white doorbell and a Customer Service Representative will come to the door to assist you.

City of Tifton is asking all residents especially those people who might be ill or in self-quarantine to be mindful and properly bag trash. Residents should put out only bagged trash — not loose — in their garbage receptacles to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for the health and safety of residents, trash haulers hands, truckers, and landfill workers.

In an effort to adhere to COVID 19 social distancing requirements and for the safety of our technicians, the follow steps will be taken in reference to lighting natural gas pilot lights and investigating natural gas leaks:

  •  Technicians will wear appropriate PPE. N95 mask, latex gloves and disposable TYVEK style coveralls.
  • Technicians will ask the residents and all occupants to vacate the residence while the pilot light is being ignited or leaks are being investigated. If the customer fails to vacate the premises the pilot light will not be ignited.
  • All other normal pilot light and leak investigating policies and procedures will be followed.
