Welcome to the City of Tifton website! I am honored to represent Tifton as Mayor and look forward to many years of public service for the citizens of this great community.
Strategically located as a transportation hub in South Central Georgia, Tifton is recognized for its strong agricultural base, diverse industrial and business base, high quality of life, award winning Downtown District, and abundant natural resources. Combining progressive planning and development strategies with our Chamber of Commerce, Development Authorities, and other economic development groups, the Tifton City Council and Management work diligently to assure positive benefits to not only our citizens, but those who visit, shop, go to school, or conduct other business with us.
We are rooted in family and neighborhood values and offer the best in community life including excellence in education, recreation, spiritual life, cultural and artistic experiences, health care and public protection. But perhaps our most outstanding community resources are the people who call Tifton home. It only takes a little while to understand why we are “The Friendly City” and why Tifton is such a great place to live.
If I can ever be of assistance to you, I hope you will call me at (229) 339-1776 or email me at email@example.com. Feel free to browse through the City website for the latest on community events, meeting information, and more.

Vice Mayor & District 1 Councilman
Hello I am Wes Ehlers, your City Council District 1 Representative and welcome to the City of Tifton’s website!
I have been lucky to call Tifton my home for over 20 years with all of those years being lived in District 1. Tifton is a great community to raise a family, operate a business, and entertain within. We must strive to continue to keep Tifton moving forward, but at the same time, be ever mindful of the future. My decisions will use those same principles, every decision has an opportunity cost associated and we have to understand those risks in order to avoid saving today and throwing away tomorrow.
Our Community offers an Award-Winning Healthcare facility in Tift Regional Medical Center and an excellent educational system for our children with opportunities, located here, to attend institutions of higher learning with UGA-Tifton, ABAC and Moultrie Technical College. More opportunities need to be provided to our citizens and I will work diligently to enhance the quality of our life by promoting community and economic development.
We all have to work together to better Tifton and I am dedicated to that position. If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me at (229)256-7583 or firstname.lastname@example.org or at www.facebook.com/EhlersDistrict1Tifton.
I believe in Tifton and love it!
District 2 Councilman
Hello, I am proud to represent Tifton’s District 2.
I lived in Tifton for 20 years before a work opportunity took me away for several years. In 2014, I retired and my wife and I chose Tifton to be our retirement home. I am committed to Tifton and look forward to helping move Tifton forward.
My priorities include the safety of our employees and citizens, protecting the environment, keeping the City on a sound financial foundation and finally making sure that everyone has a friendly experience when dealing with the City on all levels. We are “The Friendly City” and I am committed to doing my part to make sure we live up to that name.
I want everyone to know that I am here to serve you, the citizens and welcome your input on issues and ways to improve our community. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at email@example.com or (229) 402-4397.
