Reward offered in Alazia Johnson murder case
TIFTON, GEORGIA – October 8, 2020, Two local businesses have joined with the Tifton Police Department to offer a reward of $3,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Alazia Johnson.
At approximately 7:20 am on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, Tifton police officers responded to Peterson Apartments where a 9-year-old was found stabbed to death. Tifton Police Chief Steve Hyman requested the assistance of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to lead the investigation. Tifton Police Department investigators are working with agents of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to solve this case and bring the person or persons responsible for Alazia’s death to justice.
Chief Steve Hyman said, “I understand that the community is mourning and is concerned that we have someone amongst us that would do this to one of our children. I have full confidence in the detectives and agents working in this case. I ask that anyone holding information that could bring an end to this to please come forward. We will keep the community informed as we get more information that can be released.”
