Chief Of Police

"Chief Steve Hyman is originally from Alapaha, Georgia. He graduated from Berrien County High School in 1980. He has a daughter and a stepson.

Chief Hyman began his career with the Berrien County Sheriff's Department and came to the Tifton Police Department in 1983 as a patrol officer. He has also worked as an investigator, training/community relations and served as a shift supervisor. He was promoted to Captain of the Patrol Division in July of 2016 and was then promoted to Chief of Police in December of 2019."
