Tifton Announces New City Manager

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: AUGUST 19, 2025 

TIFTON, Ga. – The City of Tifton is pleased to announce the hiring of new City Manager, Jeff Shoobridge. 

Shoobridge was selected for Tifton’s top executive position following a detailed and nationwide search led by Sumter Local Government Consulting (LGC) and an approving vote of appointment by Tifton’s City Council at their meeting on Monday, August 18, 2025. 

Sumter LGC and Tifton’s City Council identified Shoobridge as a leader who not only would bring a wide variety of experiences and knowledge, but also who would exhibit the values of our Friendly City like integrity, priority of community, excellence, efficiency, and the ability to vision for our future. 

Mayor Julie Smith reflects, “Tifton’s City Council carefully and thoughtfully picked Jeff Shoobridge as someone who can carry the light of our community forward and continue the great work already in progress in our city.” Smith added, “Shoobridge will bring invaluable knowledge and expertise to our city processes, with a strong commitment to making data-driven decisions. He and his family are eager to make Tifton their home and are looking forward to becoming an active part of both the City team and our community.” 

Shoobridge’s expected start date with the City of Tifton will be in early October 2025. 

Prior to his role in Tifton, Jeff Shoobridge served as City Administrator in Crookston, MN. Tifton’s new City Manager brings experiences from leading in previous City and Town Administrator roles in MN and FL, serving on a FL city’s council, owning a government consulting company, and from his memberships in the International City/County Management Association and multiple civic organizations. 

Shoobridge is a US Navy Veteran and is seasoned in a wide variety of matters that affect City employees and residents alike. 

Shoobridge is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science/international relations and a Master’s degree in public administration, among other certifications related to public safety and local government.
