Update on Tifton's Streets: Most of Tifton's streets are getting back to normal. We are putting out salt now on some of the downtown areas that still have ice. We should be in really good shape around 3:00pm today.
Please continue to be cautious in your driving, as there may be some shaded streets, parking areas, and sidewalks that may still have ice and snow build-up. It is anticipated that most roads should be clear for travel as normal by mid-afternoon today.

City of Tifton Offices to Close on January 22, 2025 for Impending Winter Storm Conditions

TIFTON, Georgia – City Offices will close on Wednesday as potentially dangerous cold temperatures and an accumulation of snow is expected for the area.
Additionally, the Tifton/Tift County Landfill and Ryland Environmental will be closed on January 22, 2025. Ryland Environmental will run all routes on Tuesday until approximately 1:00pm.
Police, Fire, and Public Works will still report for duty on Wednesday.
An accumulation of 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected for the Tifton area beginning Tuesday evening. These conditions will compromise trees and powerlines, possibly causing power outages and dangerous driving conditions.
