TIFTON, Ga. – On March 25, 2025 at approximately 10:39 a.m., officers with the Tifton Police Department received an alert regarding a white Toyota Corolla near 17th Street and Central Avenue.
The vehicle was linked to a suspect wanted for questioning in a homicide investigation out of St. Lucie County, Fla.
Officers quickly located the vehicle on South Ridge Avenue near Old Omega Road. The driver, identified as Carlos Tito Caban, 52, of St. Lucie, Fla., was taken into custody without incident.
Caban was transported to the Tift County Jail, where he is being held on a murder warrant and for failing to register as a sex offender for the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
Detective Roberto Torres of the Tifton Police Department is coordinating with detectives from the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office regarding this case.
