FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: OCTOBER 24, 2025
TIFTON, Ga. – The Tifton Youth Council will kick off their service project by way of a free family movie night Saturday evening.
The 25-26 class of the Tifton Youth Council has planned a two-part clothing drive benefitting those in need in the Tift-area.
Part one of the project, the donation and collection of gently used clothing, will take place this Saturday at Northside Baptist church from 6-8pm. All members of the community are welcome to attend and bring clothing items to donate.
The Youth Council encourages attendees to wear their Halloween costumes, bring blankets and lawn chairs to sit on, and enjoy snacks provided by the students at the outdoor family movie night. The event will air the fan-favorite Halloweentown movie.
The following Saturday, November 1, from 10am-2pm will offer a chance for those in need to visit the Bateman Youth Center and receive clothing items at no-cost.
The Tifton Youth Council is comprised of nine high school juniors and seniors from both Tift County High School and Tiftarea Academy. These students shadow Tifton City Council members and certain City staff to learn about municipal government. They also conduct a service project to benefit the Tifton community. For any questions regarding this event, please email cabbott@tifton.net.
